About Help U.S. Retire

With the passage of the Big Beautiful Bill, lawmakers have taken an important step to protect Americans’ retirement savings.

By protecting and continuing the tax treatment for retirement accounts like 401(k)s, 403(b)s, and IRAs, Congress is ensuring that more than 120 million Americans can continue building long-term financial security through tax-advantaged savings.

Over the past 50 years, tax-advantaged retirement accounts have revolutionized retirement savings in the U.S. By encouraging a culture of saving and investing, they have helped Americans build nearly 10 times the retirement assets per household than previous generations. And thanks to the historic support of Congress, access to 401(k)s and IRAs has expanded over time, delivering tangible benefits to everyday Americans—more than three-quarters of near-retiree households now have money in an employee-sponsored retirement account.

But the work isn’t done.

Help U.S. Retire was initiated to protect the tax treatment of retirement funds within the Big Beautiful Bill. But the Secure Financial Future campaign will continue to advocate for policies that help Americans achieve financial security in their golden years. Join today to learn how you can continue to protect your hard-earned savings.
